What is the true message of Christmas?

The true message of Christmas was delivered by the angels immediately after the birth of Jesus. The angels appeared to the shepherds watching over their flocks with the following Christmas message:

‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.’ (Luke 2: 10, 11).

"The message of Christmas, angel and shepherds"

The message of Christmas. The angel asked the shepherds not to be afraid and told them that a Savior is born in Bethlehem for all humanity.

Yes that is the true message of Christmas. It is the message of good news and great joy to all humanity. Immediately after the fall of humanity, God promised a Savior. In the fullness of time God perfectly fulfilled that promise through Jesus Christ. That is the true message of Christmas.

The first message of Christmas

The Christmas message has two parts. The first message is ‘do not be afraid’. Although this message was specific to the shepherds who were frightened after seeing the angles, it is common to all. We don’t have to be afraid anymore because we have a Savior who takes away all our iniquities, if we let him.

The second message of Christmas

The second message of Christmas is ‘good news of great joy’. This good news of great joy is not to an elite group of people, but to all humanity. To everyone who calls upon the name of the one who was born in the town of David. He is Christ the Lord. That is the true message of Christmas. Have a Merry Christmas.
